SWAC December 2010
Yvette hosted our end of year Single Women Adopting Children get together. It was so fun and she has a great house for a big crowd (thanks Yvette)! I think this is the first time all nine mamas and to be mamas (Laura) were together with the 14 + kids (I always bring my one child plus others:)

Mila's 21 Months Old!
Mila's 21 months old! I am bracing for my baby turning two as it's only 3 months away.....ugh! I continue to love this age and just want to keep her young. I do look forward to the day when I no longer have to clean poopy diapers:)
Here are a few updates:
1. Mila is beginning to walk stairs with alternating feet (one foot, one step, one foot, next step). Not sure what age they are supposed to do this but - I realized it was new this past month. She also enjoys jumping off of things and has pretty good balance. I am hoping to get her into gymnastics sometime in the next 6 months.....mainly to work off some of her energy.
2. She goes through phases of eating a ton and being on a hunger strike/not eating anything for dinner or breakfast other than milk. She seems to be gaining weight or at least maintaining it and is up to 24 lbs. I try not to worry but it's hard sometimes.
3. Mila has gotten more into pretend play this past month and her favorite thing is to pretend to to feed her Habitat for Humanity bear. She also likes to make her bear dance and put him to bed (night, night). I am looking forward to Christmas as Uncle Jay bought her a great gift that she can use for more pretend play:)
4. Mila is starting to tell me either right before or right after she has gone poo poo. I always put her on the potty right before bath but she's only gone once. She's just beginning the recognition phase but I am not pushing potty training. We'll shoot for next summer unless she's ready earlier.
5. Mila's talking more in 2-3 word phrases. She still talks is long phrases that sound like jibberish but she is intelligible some of the time (like "mommy up" when she wants me to get out of bed)
6. She loves to play in the water.....any kind. Whether it's puddles outside, the sink in the kitchen pretending to wash dishes or the bathroom sink where she loves to wash hands and play with bubbles. If water was unlimited I may let her play forever but I have to cut her off of the constant running water. Her new thing is that she also really loves lotion. Loves to have it pumped into her hands, spread it around and sometimes eat it. I bought her her own bottle of cheap lotion so she can go to town with it (minus eating part:).
We had a big day on her 21 month b-day! We had breakfast with Santa and then SWAC that night. Mila was very tired and not a big Santa fan:)

Later that night at SWAC......she seems to have recovered although may have
PTSD related to Santa encounters.
