Mila's 19 Months Old!

Mila is now 19 months old! People told me it would go by fast....really fast. No one told me how sad it would make me to watch the time just race by. She will be 2 in no time and it does make me sad.....she's not a baby anymore. I do love this age a ton so perhaps that's why it's so hard.

Here are a few updates:

1. Mila's vocabulary is expanding daily and has said a few two word phrases with her first one being "mama go." She learned animal sounds this month and says "ney" whenever she sees a horse in the field outside the car. It's really fun.

2. Mila loves "rough and tumble" time. I call it wrestling. She loves being thrown over my should, tipped upside down, swinging around, and anything that involves me physically bouncing her around. When I'm tired of lifting her up, she still says "more, more." She is light but I do feel it in my back:)

3. Mila is a runner......she loves to run and be chased. This is a safety issue at times so she end up with those kiddy backpack leashes.

4. She continues to be a pretty good eater.....she loves eggs and turkey sausage for breakfast. When she is teething, sometimes she doesn't eat as much but overall I am surprised by how she can pack food away.

5. This month, I decided to close the PO Box I set up for Mila's birthmother, Vanessa. It's been six months and she has not sent any letters or cards as she mentioned she wanted to. It makes me sad but it's okay......the correspondence is more for me than Mila. Vanessa needs less contact than I desire but it's up to her. I am just keeping an open mind and some day she may desire contact. She has already given me the greatest gift....Mila! And- for that I'll be forever grateful to her.

Mila loves to hike! She walked probably 1/3 mile of the Delicate Arch hike

Look how long her hair is when wet!

  1. So precious! I know exactly how you feel about your baby growing up. Janie is 20 months now and has lost that "baby look" and is doing so many big girl things. Just today she held a fig newton and ate it without me breaking it into small peices. Of course, that was something small, but it happened a little while ago and actualy brought tears to my eyes that she didn't need me to break it up for her---things like that happen every day and reminds me how quickly they grow. Time flies when your having fun doesn't it...

  2. Wow! Mila's hair *is* really long. She just gets more adorable by the day. I love the pumpkin patch pictures. Looking forward to our kids chasing each other.
